We need a Tower Columns Internal Inspector performs columns internal installation inspection activities in order to verify the installation complies with the client's project specifications


The Tower Columns Internal Inspector will:




  • Perform work activities efficiently while continuously looking for cost-saving opportunities.


  • Perform inspections in a safe manner (safety above all else).


  • Maintain the required training and/or certifications to perform the inspections (i.e., confined space, working at heights, etc.).


  • Monitor the work in order to verify it is performed in a safe manner and intervene as appropriate to prevent injury.


  • Work collaboratively with Valero Engineer to perform, document, and sign off column internals installation inspections for an on behalf of client in order to verify the installation complies with project specifications and project facilities are constructed in accordance with approved project specifications, design documents, applicable codes/regulations, and acceptable work practices.


  • Verify inspection records are properly filled out and signed off.


  • Work with client and Vendor Engineers (that would also be acting in a client Inspector capacity) to provide guidance and assistance on issues that come up except a deviation from the drawings or a design intent and escalate.


  • Escalate those issues that are a deviation from the drawings and/or design intent to client's Process Engineering for resolution.


  • Work with vendors in order to verify drawings are redlined to reflect what was installed if drawings changes are approved by client.


  • Inform and advise client of any materials, installation, or design concerns.


  • Participate in quality and/or progress meetings with field contractors in order to verify quality problems are being addressed in a timely manner.


  • Review contractor's turnover packages on completed facilities and support client in acceptance of turnover packages.


  • Conduct "buy-off" at the point of mechanical completion as a Valero representative on the construction team. 



The ideal Tower Columns Internal Inspector will ideally have:




  • Minimum of 5 years of inspection related experience in QC, QA or Senior Inspection role working petrochemical turnarounds or capital projects.


  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification and preferred ASNT-TC-1A Level II.


  • Extensive knowledge of various mechanical skills (pipe fitting, welding, boiler making, electrical, rotating equipment, instrumentation, X-ray techniques and interpretation).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
